Challenging the Mind
In the past month, I’ve put myself on a course to learn all I can about internet marketing and social networks. What a journey and it has only begun.
Our world is certainly changing and how we do business will be no different. I am currently reading “Inbound Marketing” and having so many “DUH” moments sometimes it is laughable. I signed up for the Inbound Marketing University course and am finding it challenging as I learn about SEO, social networking, how to get indexed in Google, and how to get customers to come to you instead of chasing after them. There are days when I go to bed at night with my head swimming and feeling like I am on overload. It often seems all an uphill battle with the top not at all in sight. So many things to learn!
At the same time, it is energizing. I have always found that I am in a better place when my mind is challenged. It excites me and probably drives my family and friends a little crazy because I want them to see the same things I’m learning. It also gives such pleasure when something you try actually works.
Another great thing that is happening is a building of new networks. I love that. I am meeting people I would never have met otherwise who have a lot to say and a lot to share. The internet is really about sharing information, quality information, and we all have something to share. So now I find myself really beginning to understand the value of things like Squidoo, Twitter, Facebook, Technorati, Digg, Stumbleupon, and how they all work together.
QUESTION:What new thing have you learned in the last few months? How did it impact your life?
