Facebook memories can be fun. Sometimes they bring memories of sadness, sometimes memories of fun things we’ve done. This week, here’s what came up in my memories from last year about my Mary & Martha story:
A Walk Down Memory Lane
And a little story for all of you. I don’t talk much about business on my personal profile, but today I am going to tell you the story of why I do what I do now with Mary & Martha. Stick with me, it could be long! My friends know I’ve done all kinds of direct sales in the past, and honestly when done right, I love the industry.
Almost two years ago, I attended a Mary & Martha party. Right in the middle of the pandemic. I loved the products and wanted to get some for my house. Then I realized the kit was cheaper than buying them and had much of what I wanted. So I became what we call in the industry a “kitnapper,” meaning I got the kit with no intention of selling anything, I just wanted the discount (Who doesn’t love a good discount?)!
When I got the products, I started to look a little closer at the company. We’re a part of Day Spring, which you may know is the Christian greeting card with Hallmark. And, in simple terms, the company, the mission (bringing hope & encouragement to every home, every day), and the products simply spoke to my soul.
My faith is important to me. And now this is a way to share that faith more as a part of this business and provide a ministry, one that speaks to people. And even if someone isn’t buying the products for the “message” on them, they still bring that message into their home. I have been incredibly blessed to share this with so many women, and some men as they shopped for their wives, in the last two years. I’ve had devotional studies in groups, both online and in person, and this month I’m one of the presenters for the larger online devotional study done by the company. Why? Because in all of my time with direct sales, I have never been in a company who lives out the mission and message like this one. Our president says “the method is business, which can change as you can do business multiple ways, and the message is Jesus, that part never changes.” THAT is something I want to be a part and I’m so glad I attended that little party two years ago.
Thank you to those who have followed along on this journey. And for those who haven’t seen it, come on over to my community where we’re all about hope & encouragement, inspiration and fun. We’d love to welcome you. Inspiration Station VIP Lounge
Fast Forward to Today
I can’t begin to tell you all the things this company means to me. Last fall, I found myself in the hospital in ICU with blood clots to my lungs. It was a scary time. And this Army of Women with Mary & Martha stepped up. They called me, prayed for me, and so many things happened as a result. The biggest thing was that there was no need for a test that had me pretty scared, and in three days I was well enough to come home. It is indeed a sisterhood unlike any other.
Then there’s my team. We are Team 2911, based on the Bible verse Jeremiah 29:11. Believing God always has a plan even when we can’t see it, this team is an amazing group of women who work together, pray for each other, and support each other. I am incredibly blessed that they chose our team to belong to.
