I was thinking this weekend that I really needed to do something to post here on my personal blog. I knew it had been awhile since I had been here, but didn’t realize it had been so long. Sometimes life just happens and you get busy. That seems to be where life is at these days for me.

This week, I have been blessed with tickets to attend the “Over the Top” Women of Faith conference in Denver. I’m really looking forward to it, even though I’m unsure of what to expect. I’ve always enjoyed the blog posts from Women of Faith and wanted to attend one of their events, it just never fit into my schedule. This year, the folks at BookSneeze offered their bloggers a chance to get tickets, so I signed up. And I was sent two tickets! So I’ll be taking my niece and heading to Denver this week for the event.

Perhaps one of the things I am most looking forward to is that Andy Andrews is one of the speakers for this event. He’s one of my all time favorite authors, starting with his book The Traveler’s Gift. That book is one I’ve often shared with others because of the powerful message in the 7 decisions for personal success. I love how he mixes history into his stories and am looking forward to hearing him speak in person. There are a lot of dynamic speakers planned so it should be a great meeting.

It seems life has just been way too busy lately, but it’s been a good busy. I’m taking some of the EHR training courses and school is pretty easy, really just more time consuming than anything else, at least in this 8 weeks. I’ve started to offer some great education on the sites I operate and even though it takes time, I do enjoy working with the sites and getting things up and going. It makes me learn new things, which for me is always a plus.

And I’m dipping my toe back into the volunteer world with my professional association. Two years of really being out of that mix has been rather freeing, and yet I really came to the point of realizing that if I had things to offer there, I needed to do that. Lots of friends have asked why I’m putting myself out there again, and the answer is pretty simple. At the end of the day, it’s about doing what’s right for myself and this is.

It’s time to step back and be sure that I’m writing a good story. I’m reminded that we do indeed create the stories of our lives and I’d like mine to be a good one. And so today I’m writing on that new page and working at creating something that matters.

So now off to a Monday morning full of challenges. Hopefully it will end up being a good week!
